Nintendo thwarting Wii modders with epoxy

A double shot of bad news for the Wii hacking set today — not only do new Wiis appear to have a modchip-proof layer of epoxy around the DVD-ROM IC chips, Waninkoko has abandoned the Wii Backup-Loader project. The modchip news isn’t all that surprising.

Once you give an online retailer your email address there’s a good chance you’ll continue to get emails letting you know about other items the company would like you to buy, coupons, or sales until the day [...]

Stop “downloading” Photoshop.

Stop stealing, downloading, finding, borrowing, burning Adobe Photoshop. Either pony up and by Photoshop (“Elements“) for only $149 or do what I do and use the FREE stuff like Artweaver or GIMP. The learning curve to GIMP may be a little high, but it will get the job done. The better and closest alternative is [...]

DRM or not to DRM???

First off what is DRM? Digital Rights Management restrictions hurts more than it helps. There are 4 different ways to look at DRM. 1. From the companies point of view trying to protect their investment. 2. From the consumers point of view trying to use the product. 3. From the hacker looking for something to [...]
